Responsibilities

What You Will Be Doing

Are you interested in IT systems? Then we're the right place. In our company, we offer a three-year apprenticeship to become an IT systems electronics technician with an examination from the IHK. In addition to many exciting impressions within the FRS family and associated international shipping companies, the training program focuses on the following areas:

  • Planning of IT systems
  • Installation, configuration, maintenance and servicing of hardware and software for IT systems, payment solutions and 4G/5G/VSAT communication
  • Collaboration in the day-to-day business of the IT operations /and Vessel IT departments
  • Specific tasks in individual areas such as digital infrastructure, wired networks, radio networks, virtual networks, computer systems, end devices and security systems

You will learn the required theoretical knowledge for your training in block school lessons in Flensburg, which will then enable you to apply your knowledge directly at our company.

By being part in a various projects and in day-to-day business, you will contribute actively during your apprenticeship and help to further develop FRS Systems. FRS also regularly runs additional projects with the team of apprentices and dual students, which will provide you and the entire team of trainees with further professional and social skills.

What You Bring

  • At least an intermediate school leaving certificate with good to very good final results
  • Communication skills
  • Interest in IT Systems and technical skills
  • Minimum B2 German language skills
  • Good English language skills
  • Enjoy dealing with people and working in a team
  • Commitment and flexibility

  • What does the application process look like?

    Step 1: Application
    You submit your application/CV to us.

    Step 2: Receipt of application
    We match your qualifications with our requirements profile. We send out an invitation if you could be a fit. Even if it does not fit, we will let you know honestly and as soon as possible.

    Step 3: 1st Interview (via Teams)
    Together we find out whether our mutual ideas match and get to know each other. In the development area, there could be also a short technical test in place, depending on the position you apply for.

    Step 4: 2nd Interview
    Second interview, if possible in person in the office otherwise via Teams. We speak more detailed about position and team, company & benefits.

    Step 5: Selection process
    We consult with all colleagues who were present during the interviews.

    Step 6: Contract offer
    Welcome to our team! Together we define the contract details.

  • How do I apply for an apprenticeship?

    Step 1
    After we have received your application, you will receive an automatic confirmation e-mail from us. We review applications on an ongoing basis. 

    Step 2
    We also conduct interviews on an ongoing basis. The process consists of up to two rounds.

    • First: Digital interview via Teams
    • Second: Personal interview on site. Those who make it to the personal interview on site may receive a small task from us in advance, which should then be prepared until the interview date.

    Step 3
    Already done! Now it will be decided which applicant will enlarge our apprentice team.

  • What documents do I need to apply with?

    At FRS Systems, we're hiring for personality. That's why we don't ask for references, motivational letters or similar. We would be happy to receive an up-to-date curriculum vitae to get a first impression of you. A letter of application is optional, not mandatory.
